Our new system makes it so easy to put together these lists, we were able to post the Thanksgiving restaurant list early this year. You’ll find eateries open on Thanksgiving day, plus a few restaurants selling complete to-go packages. We’ll update the list as we find out about more dinners, so check back. As usual, you’ll find a link on the page if you would like to add your event or update our information.
Of course, the standard places will be open – Denny’s, Shari’s, Taco Bell, which reminds me of a drive I took from Portland to Los Angeles one Thanksgiving years ago. It’s hard to find somewhere decent to eat on a regular day (see my gas station food review), and we ended up stopping at Denny’s twice. That was nothing compared to my birthday back in the 70’s when I was making a similar trip. I’m not sure if this is still the case, but Denny’s used to offer a free meal if it was your birthday. Being a stupid college kid with a bottomless stomach, I stopped at every one of them along the road and ended up with five free meals. I’m still not sure if I stuck it to the man, or he stuck it to me.
