Looking for Coffee on Thanksgiving Day?

Last Update November 28, 2019 Leave a Comment

First, two businesses stand out by working some extra hours for a good cause.

Portland Coffee

Sterling Coffee Roasters in NW Portland will be having a benefit.

Please join us on Thanksgiving from 8 am-12 pm!

All drinks are on the house with tip proceeds going to IRCO whose mission is to promote the integration of refugees, immigrants and the community at large into a self-sufficient, healthy and inclusive multi-ethnic society!

Next, Coffeehouse Northwest is also having a benefit –

This Thanksgiving, we’re keeping our doors open. We’re inviting you and yours in for not only coffee but also for a bit of community.

We will have a holiday raffle and as our way of saying thanks and giving back, 100% of our proceeds from the day will be going to a cause near and dear to our hearts, Mercy Corps NW.

With donations from almost 20 local businesses, you’ll find prizes you want to share and some prizes you’ll want to treasure. Raffle tickets will be $5/each day-of and can go towards your choice of prize. The lineup ranges from gift cards, gift baskets, floral arrangements, and jewelry, to fitness and spa passes!

As we all collectively gear up and get ready to dive into the holidays, we at Coffeehouse Northwest would love to help fill your cup – this time in more way than one. On Thanksgiving, we will be open from 8:00am – 1:00pm and would love if you could join us.

For this year’s Thanksgiving fundraiser, all funds will go toward Mercy Corps NW and more specifically, their LIFE Outside program.

LIFE Outside goes hand in hand with their LIFE (Lifelong Information For Entrepreneurs) program which teaches translatable business skills to incarcerated individuals and as the name suggests, seeks to support them with job opportunities for their life outside. Mercy Corps has targeted the coffee industry as one of their main workforces for this program. To us, this came as no surprise. Coffee is the great equalizer, a standard start to the mornings of many, and we’re so grateful for how eclectic that makes our community here at Coffeehouse Northwest. To learn more about Mercy Corps NW and the amazing work that they do you can visit https://www.mercycorpsnw.org.

Instagram post 2188801124419993623_2988593889 New Lionheart Coffee in downtown Beaverton at 1st and Watson opened today. If anything like their first location it will be the best coffee in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area. Original location is on SW SchollsFerry Road. Even better, it’s next door to Big’s Chicken.

Instagram post 2132255118958341690_2988593889 Nice lunch of chicken molé at Mixteca at the Portland Mercado. I hate to say it, but their molé is as good as I make at home (though I’m not a huge fan of chicken breast, theirs was perfectly cooked)
