Nak Won has teamed up with the City of Beaverton and other restaurants on the block – Nak Won, Afuri Izakaya, and Koya Sushi to close the street and add a large, open-sided, but heated tent area. It’s a pleasant place to hang out and catch up with friends. Here is the statement from the city –
Open daily from 7am-8pm, the Dining Commons is here for you to enjoy your food and drink in a physically-distanced area. Managed by Lionheart Coffee Company, tables and chairs are cleaned every two hours, and there are even cleaning materials for your use as well.
Since this is open to the public, you can bring your own food or drink, or you can order it from a nearby restaurant (we highly encourage this!). Bringing closed containers of alcohol from home or a neighboring business to open and drink in the Dining Commons is welcome, just be sure to not leave the Dining Commons with an open container.
When you come, you will likely find it a peaceful environment with people reuniting from safe distances with their favorite food and drinks. Pets are also welcome, so bring yours and enjoy the shade! If you want to connect virtually or do some work outside, you can easily connect to the internet via Lionheart Coffee Company’s internet service.
This is a temporary public space through October 31, 2020. If it receives positive feedback from community members and nearby businesses, we may see it continue through the fall and winter. (Edited on November 11, 2020 – The City of Beaverton has granted the Dining Commons an indefinite extension. It’ll now remain open until the City deems it no longer necessary.)
