Getting here is a bit of a treck – it may be in NW Portland, but it is all the way up on Skyline Blvd. It’s worth the trip, especially if you take a relaxing hike in Forest Park – there are many trails near the bar – they have a map on their website. But the place itself is great – open and closed outdoor deck areas, and over an acre of land with a view west towards Beaverton along with extra picnic tables on the lawns. Bring your own burgers and dogs to cook on the grill. Very basic selection of pub food available.
Smoking allowed outdoors. Go play some horseshoes and ping pong!
(Note: the bar now takes credit/debit cards)
SKYLINE TAVERN rests atop Tualatin Mountain (1060 feet) at
the far northwest corner of Portland hovering above Forest Park near the intersection of Skyline Boulevard and Germantown Road.
Folks from Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro and from all over the region have been drinking, eating, laughing and relaxing here for over eight decades. This legendary gathering spot and watering hole offers a commanding view of the Tualatin Valley and the northern Coast Range.
Guests take advantage of the beer garden which features a community grill, outdoor games and the cool shade of mighty Douglas firs. Skyline Tavern is also available for special events.
