We visited NW Matador last weekend during a busy but not too busy time. We sat at one of those cool outdoor two tops and waited for a server to come by. The person working that side of the building came as far as the table next to us but never came to the end table where we were seated. Once she did, we ordered drinks and nachos at once in case she never came back. Drinks came eventually, followed by water then the nachos a short time later. No plates, utensils or napkins ever made it to our table so I went off in search of some. I found a server cart with my needed items and brought them back to our table. After a while, the server came by with plates. Ugh.

So, mediocre food and unprofessional service but the mai tai I had was exceptionally powerful and perfectly mixed. I guess I’ll go back again some day.

Yes, the service is often horrid here, unfortunately for the few good servers. Many spoiled servers in these very busy restaurants who in today’s generous culture get automatic 15-30% tips. Ask for something simple or a question about the food and get weird looks from the waitress. All too often wait forever to be seated, have your orders messed up, and be ignored. Many servers at this restaurant have their nose stuck up and are oblivious without respect for their customers or pride in their jobs and deserve to be fired.
