New Restaurants: Barista, Bunk Bar, Little Big Burger

By PDX Food Dude Last Update November 27, 2017

    Two Tarts Bakery S'mores

Byron Beck says that Bruce Carey Enterprises is opening a pizza place in the Pearl District "Word is that Via Tribunali will pop up downtown and will be a co-venture with another restaurant group that's already started to make a splash in the Portland market. No word on when Via Tribunali will actually open, as the venture is still in the early stages." Barista … [Read more...] about New Restaurants: Barista, Bunk Bar, Little Big Burger

    23 Hoyt Restaurant Portland

A review of 23Hoyt Restaurant in Portland Since it was first built by Bruce Carey Restaurants, the 23Hoyt space has gone through multiple incarnations. The first was a short-lived Italian restaurant named Balvo, the second, 23Hoyt, managed by the well-known chef Chris Israel. Chris has now moved on to open his own restaurant. That is quite a bit of unpaid … [Read more...] about Saucebox: The Tax Man Cometh…

We tried five dishes and were served what can only be described as some of the worst food I've had in a Portland restaurant. Pad thai with the texture of baby food. Spring rolls that were worse than something you'd find in the freezer case of your … [Read more...] about Review: Saucebox

The Original Saucebox Review from 2005

    Angry Child - shutterstock.com

Note -12/2005: There have been many changes at Saucebox over the past three months or so, starting with the departure of the chef, and the original chef, Chris Israel returning. I have gone back several times, and while the food is quickly improving, the service needs a lot of work. I will hold off on doing another complete review for a while.A good restaurant requires a … [Read more...] about The Original Saucebox Review from 2005
