Winner of Our Food Haiku Contest 2006!

By PDX Food Dude Last Update April 20, 2018 3 Comments

The winnner of our fooku contest is Fathom –

    Now forego the fork
Hold close this slice of heaven
    Perfect on a crust

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to vote. This provided a fun interlude, and we’ll do more of this type of thing in the future.

    Runner up: Pam –

    Champagne, strawberries
and you, here in my warm bed.
    Who cares if it rains?

I think Pam’s was really good at painting a picture but, being from out of the area, she obviously doesn’t reallize how much it rains here in Portland. Comes a point when you do care!

    Finally, Witzend –

    How bad could it be?
Real bad. Think Hung Far Low bad.
    Ok, fine! YOU choose.

Congrats to all the winners! This was really fun.

Hey, FD, you said when you announced the finalists that you felt there was “a clear winner” and were interested in seeing if we all agreed. Did we pick the one you had in mind? If not, which one was it?

And now can we have a limerick contest? I already have one I’m pretty proud of . . .

It WAS fun! I’m still finding myself counting syllables. BTW I’m from the Bay Area, where our rainfall for the last three months has surpassed Seattle’s usual annual. We’re not used to this, and EVERYONE’S complaining. Thus the (somewhat ironic) reference to the weather.

I was robbed! I demand a recount! Curse these Diebold machines–without a paper trail, we cannot be sure of the actual outcome!

      Ah, whatever. Congrats to Fathom!
