The Hop & Vine has announced they will be closing at the end of July. Here is the press release:
Portland, Oregon. – June 13th, 2016 – Hop & Vine will officially close for business at 1914 N Killingsworth St., Portland, Oregon at the end of July. It is with a heavy heart Hop & Vine announces this summer will mark the final days that the bar will be opening it’s doors on North Killingsworth.
“The end of July will mark 8 years since we first opened in North Portland, an area we called home for so many years”, said Yetta Vorobik-Yakobson Owner of Hop & Vine. She went on to say, “We love the neighborhood, our loyal followers and the best staff a bar could have, but after deep contemplation, my husband and I have decided not to renew the lease as the expense to proceed with a new lease was too great.”
Yetta and Chad hope to open the Hop & Vine again with a similar feel, slightly larger kitchen and of course a gorgeous patio that Hop & Vine was known for.
“We would like to take this chance to thank all of our staff, patrons and partners we’ve had the honor to work with throughout the years. It’s because of all of you that Hop & Vine has such a wonderful history with warm memories of the Burger Brawls, Wine Dinners, Brewing Up Cocktails, Zwanze Day and who could forget Taco Tuesday.”
Owners Yetta and Chad will continue working on their label collaborations & fermentations that previously saw exclusive releases for Hop & Vine. The two plan to continue working with friends and colleagues producing Ampersand beers, wines & soon ciders and spirits. Next in the series is Volume 3 Chapter 1, a Golden Sour Botanical Ale Aged in Ransom Old Tom Gin Barrels for over 12 months.
The two hope to release the Volume 3 Chapter 1 collaboration as part of a final hurrah and are planning events to send the bar off in great fashion! Look for announcements during the month of July for specialty events and parties!
