After 12 years in business, Iorio restaurant in SE Portland has announced they will be closing on April 15th. The southern Italian restaurant was known for its homestyle ambience, and for being very accommodating to those with gluten allergies; a bit of a challenge for an Italian restaurant. After 12 years, it still had an average 4-star rating from both Yelp and OpenTable reviewers. Here is the press release:

For all the weddings, first dates, proposals, 50th wedding anniversaries, baby showers and birthdays, visits with Santa, carb loading from Hood to coast, gluten-free

cooking classes, graduations…every single milestone moment

we’ve lived to share with you, Portland.

Mahalo,
Hilary and Chris Thompson

This saddens me greatly. This was a place that I could bring my WHOLE family to. The food and the service were always spectacular.

I’m so sorry to see you go,

    Brian

Best calamari in town. Loved to sit at the bar for a drink and order a dinner. Thank you and best wishes.
