OPB: Cook it at Home: Biwa Owners Demonstrate Cooking Bibimbap

July 23, 2012 by PDX Food Dude

Biwa Restaurant

Gabe Rosen and Kina Voelz, owners of the popular Biwa restaurant in SE Portland, demonstrated to OPB Arts & Life, how to cook bibimbap, the signature Korean dish, at home. Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste). A raw or fried egg and sliced meat are common additions – I usually use beef. The ingredients are stirred together thoroughly just before eating.

You’ll find an accompanying photo gallery with the story on OPB.
