    Closed RIP

In a press release, the Paley's wax rhapsodic about their last night. In Russian, the word "love" is only reserved for people, not places or things, but at Paley's Place, Kimberly and I endeavored to reimagine what that word means to us. To us, love includes clinking glasses, shaking cocktails, phones ringing nonstop. It's Kimberly blurting out "Let them taste the love!" … [Read more...] about The Paley’s – A Classic Way to End

    RIP R.I.P Closed sign

Paley's Place, one of Portland's great restaurants is closing Thanksgiving weekend. In a statement released Monday, the Paley's said the closure will be permanent. This announcement has hit me hardest if any of the closures over the past few years. I’d write more but I’m in the middle of moving and don’t even have Internet yet. bagna cauda at Aviary Restaurant

Your Choice for the most romantic restaurant in Portland Romance. Candlelight, quiet conversation, memorable communal experience, flirting. That is my definition, but, judging from the list, many people have other criteria. I went all the way back to our 2006 results, which contained many blasts from the past: Alba Osteria, Alberta Oyster, Andina, Fenouil, Carlyle, Paley’s, … [Read more...] about Reader Survey 2017: Most Romantic Restaurant in Portland

    Paley's Place Restaurant Portland Veranda

Paley's Place has one of my favorite decks in all of Portland. It's simple - just a veranda around the front of this old Victorian house, but there is something about sitting there on a warm evening, sipping a glass of wine and browsing my way through charcuterie that makes me happy. *I don't believe you can access the restaurant in a wheelchair. … [Read more...] about Paley’s Place
