Survey 2011: Best Group Dining

April 15, 2011 by PDX Food Dude 6 Comments

This pretty much fell along the lines of whatever restaurants in town have a group table, and are reasonably priced. Not sure why I even asked this question, though number 2 was a surprise.

Andina has a very nice private room for large groups, no surprise if you have ever eaten in it – it’s really a nice space.

I like Tabla for larger groups but they can’t handle more than 12 or so in their private room.

Adding to what Jill-O says, Andina has multiple private rooms from their “basement” wine room to their upstairs large dining room that holds up to 50 people and has a private bar, private bathrooms, etc. I’ve organized a number of events at both of these spaces with really good results.

I can easily see how Andina got so high. They actually have four private rooms with seating from 16-65. I’ve only been in one, but they all look really nice on the website:

I completely forgot about the private dining areas at Andina, and on being reminded, I agree. As a matter of fact, Andina and Tabla would be my top choices in town.

Another thing about Andina that’s befitting of a group is their specialty menus (i.e. Gluten Free, vegetarian)… Lord knows when you start gathering more than 5-6 people, there’s inevitably a dietary need that comes up. As such, was the primary reason I chose it for my work party’s in the past. To me, the nice private room was an add-on.
