Taqueria Nueve Reopens in Southeast Portland

February 6, 2014 by PDX Food Dude Leave a Comment

NewsTaqueria Nueve has reopened in the space last occupied by Beaker & Flask. You may remember the restaurant from their old location on NE 28th, which closed in May of 2008. At the time, it was considered by many to be the best Mexican restaurant in Portland.

Chef Billy Schumaker is bringing back many old favorites such as wild boar tacos, octopus coctel, and Caeser con ceviche. Expect updated cooking styles with authentic Mexican flavors and local ingredients.

Here is a review I wrote of the original restaurant in 2006, giving it 3 out of 4 stars.

Taqueria Nueve is at 727 Southeast Washington Avenue at Sandy.  Map
