Reader Survey 2012: Best Lebanese Restaurant in Portland

By PDX Food Dude Last Update March 11, 2015 12 Comments

    Nicholas

In 2011, the ranking for Best Lebanese in Portland went Nicholas, Ya Hala, Karam. Generally a bargain in this tight economy, these restaurants seem to be prospering. This year there have been few changes, though the separation between restaurants has changed. Nicholas has lost a little ground, Ya Hala gained, Karam has dropped by a huge percentage - perhaps the high prices are … [Read more...] about Reader Survey 2012: Best Lebanese Restaurant in Portland

Reader Survey 2012: Best Indian in Portland

    Tandori Prawns @ Vindalho

Indian food is incredibly varied and complex. It is also one of my favorite foods, and I've been wishing we had more choices in Portland. The recently opened Bollywood Theater has helped fill the void with good options at very affordable prices, jumping to #3 on the list after only being in business for a few months. Vindalho and East India Company have swapped; I'm guessing … [Read more...] about Reader Survey 2012: Best Indian in Portland

Reader Survey 2012: Best Coffeehouse in Portland

By PDX Food Dude Last Update March 11, 2015 7 Comments

I thought it would be interesting this year to break coffee into two categories - Best Coffeehouse and Best Roaster. Stumptown is known for roasting and I thought they would do pretty well in both categories, especially with 5 stores, but that isn't the case. Let's look at the results: 752 votes cast:1. Ristretto Roasters - 16.2% of the vote. Our review2181 NW Nicolai … [Read more...] about Reader Survey 2012: Best Coffeehouse in Portland

Reader Survey 2012: Best Coffee Roaster in Portland

A new category this year - roaster. You'll find Best Coffeehouse here.I was floored by these results. The relatively new Ristretto Roasters came out of nowhere to take first place, edging out Stumptown Coffee.Out of 736 votes cast: 1. Ristretto Roasters – 27.9% of the vote . Our review2181 NW Nicolai St., Portland 97210 Map 3808 N Williams Ave, Portland … [Read more...] about Reader Survey 2012: Best Coffee Roaster in Portland

Reader Survey 2012: Best Italian in Portland

By PDX Food Dude Last Update April 21, 2015 21 Comments

    John Valls - Nostrana Restaurant

As happened in 2010 and 2011, Nostrana wins by a large majority for Portland's Best Italian Food. The separation between the second group is pretty close, so I listed a few. Last year Genoa was 2nd, so Tabla has moved up. 732 votes were cast. I think that the big disparity in price played a big part between Italia and Genoa, the latter being more expensive so less people are … [Read more...] about Reader Survey 2012: Best Italian in Portland
