In a press release today, Ben Dyer of the ever popular Laurelhurst Market and Butcher Shop, announced that Ben Bettinger will be taking over as executive chef, replacing Shannon Preble, who is stepping down to pursue “other passions”.

As I reported earlier this week, Bettinger is leaving his current position as executive chef at Imperial and Portland Penny Diner in August.

I really like Shannon Premble’s food and will definitely need to go to Laurelhurst a few more times before she moves on. She’s one of the many underrated, non-talked about Chefs in town making fantastic food. I’ll be looking forward to what she does next.
