Every Day Wine Sold

October 26, 2015 by PDX Food Dude 1 Comment

Wine glassBeth Boston over at Every Day Wine on NE Alberta Street has announced that after, more than 12 years, she has sold the business:

For more than 12 years now, I have opened the doors to Every Day Wine and you have trusted and supported me with great kindness and generosity along the way. Wine may have been the impetus, but the friendships built the community and were the ultimate day-to-day joy. This was my good fortune, and my privilege. So many great people! I am proud of the business you helped me build.

I’ve made countless lifelong friendships while standing behind the bar at EDW. And I’ve said goodbye to too many friends: Sonya, Lynn, my dear Kenny, and my most loyal companion Porter. Thinking about each of you – past and present members of the EDW family, I know I am so lucky to have had the gift of your time and love.

But there comes a time in life when everything seems to make sense. The addition of our son Everett – heaven right here on earth – gives me great clarity. This guy changes everything. It is my time and my turn to move on, reimagine, and seek a new lifestyle, a new normal. Every ending has a new beginning, and I am excited for the adventures to come.

Thank you to my friends and peers for so many years of loyalty and laughs. Many times I have been humbled by the kindness of your hearts. But the single most important thank you goes to my wife, Alice. Thank you for your patience and encouragement. I love you.

This has been an amazing journey. Let’s smile because it happened and because there is a silver lining: more TIME for fun and games. Oh, and dinner every night at home with my family. Tomorrow I will wake up in my new life, full of yet-to-be realized opportunities.

Today I pass the Every Day Wine torch on to Tommy Mantovani. Tommy is excited to take EDW to the next level. Please help me in welcoming Tommy to the helm. I will be supporting him with the transition over the next couple of weeks, so swing by for an introduction and a glass. Totally painless.

Au revoir (maybe I’ll learn French!)
Beth
EDW is at 1520 NE Alberta street in Portland

    Hi Beth!

Tamara and I missed your closing and now we miss you! Somehow we didn’t come in for 6 months and there you weren’t! Tommy treated us royally and we did get a chance to meet him the last time we were there.

Tamara and I have a gift certificate for you and Alice. Since we could not deliver it in person, would you be kind enough to let me know where to send it?

Loved your farewell message and wish you and Alice and Everett all the best, always. We know you will have many new adventures.

    Sincerely,
    Marcia and Tamara
