Finally, a bit of news about the 2021 FEAST Portland. It will be held this year but in a greatly modified form.
Here are the details from the press release.
Friends. Rollercoaster doesn’t even begin to describe this past year for our community. Like many of you, we’ve had moments of fear, worry, and heartache mixed in with reflection, joy, and hope. And it is with hope and joy that we’re excited to announce that we’re back.
We’re back in a way that reflects what our community needs right now. We’re back in a way that will bring us all together over the thing we all love the most — food. We’re back in a way that celebrates our city and the hard work we’re all doing to make our community better. We’re back for the Summer of Feast.
The Summer of Feast is a different kind of Feast Portland. It’s not quite time for a four-day extravaganza in September (we look forward to that in 2022) but it is time for us to come together and celebrate everything we love about food, our community, and our city.
So here’s what we’ve got planned for the summer — a lineup of new, exciting, intimate and heartfelt events with some incredible collaborators and friends (both old and new) that we’ll be rolling out all summer long. We’ve got magical outdoor movie experiences, we’ve got the most delicious family reunions you’ve ever been to, we’ve got conversations with leaders and changemakers in our community — and we’ve got fun.
We’re grateful to everyone in our community who’s been working with us to create the Summer of Feast. And speaking of community, we’re excited to be partnering with Feed The Mass as our charitable partner for the Summer of Feast. Feed The Mass is an incredible organization that brings people together through food and education, with the goal of promoting awareness, inclusion, and the importance of healthy cooking and eating. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Feed The Mass has provided free, chef-driven meals to anyone in need of food, nourishment, care, and community. They also provide on the job training for volunteers interested in food industry careers. We’ll be raising funds for Feed The Mass at the Feast Family Reunions and working alongside them throughout the summer to spotlight their amazing work within our community.
