Lucky Strike, the funky Sichuan restaurant on SE Hawthorne Blvd is closing. The restaurant opened in 2008 on Southeast Powell, and moved to its current location on Southeast Hawthorne in 2010. The restaurant placed #1, #2 and #3 on our 2012, 2013 and 2015 reader surveys for Best Chinese food.

The restaurant has always suffered from cramped seating and oddly inept service, which people tolerated because the food was pretty darn good. According to Eater, they received a tip that it was closing due to a rent increase, but the landlord has denied that is the case. The last day of service will be December 27th.
