Park Kitchen Expands

January 24, 2006 by PDX Food Dude Leave a Comment

When the hair salon next door to Park Kitchen went under, I was sure they were going to take it over. It seemed so logical, even my dog gave it is own special seal of approval. Months have gone by, and as the park blocks are on our nightly walks, we’ve kept our eye on the building. Now the news is here. They have signed the lease on the old hair salon next door to the restaurant and are begining construction on a new expanded dining room. This space is going to be available for private dining parties as well as spill over on busy nights.

They are also putting in a temperature controlled wine storage room (yes!) as well as making some improvements to the kitchen and the bar. Hopefully, they are looking at an early spring opening, assuming they can get all the permits in a timely fashion (ah huh… good luck with that). A few changes will take place in conjunction with the opening, including the elimination of brunch service, a new lunch, and dinner hours on Monday night.
