Review: Kinara Thai Bistro

August 11, 2008 by PDX Food Dude 17 Comments

Kinara Thai

Minor update 2021.It seems like there are hundreds of Thai restaurants in Portland, with little to differentiate them. Pasty noodles, dried-out meat, and curry paste from a jar seem to be the norm. When I stumble across one that is actually good, I am always surprised. Kinara Thai Bistro, next to the Lincoln High athletic field in the Goose Hollow area of Portland, is one … [Read more...] about Review: Kinara Thai Bistro

Review: Karam Lebanese Restaurant

June 11, 2008 by PDX Food Dude 22 Comments

Both w and I are huge Thai … [Read more...] about Review: Mai Thai Restaurant

May 2, 2008 by PDX Food Dude 13 Comments

First Impressions, by Hungry SoulA little over a year ago, the Crescent Cafe opened to many oo's and aah's. Owners, Michael McKenney and Danny Wilser had moved to Yamhill County to "retire" and it seems got bored. They formerly owned and operated Ella's Restaurant in San Francisco, a much loved neighborhood spot. The Crescent Cafe is a step up from the other breakfast … [Read more...] about Review: Crescent Cafe – breakfast in the wine country

Review: Koji Osakaya

April 17, 2008 by CuisineBonneFemme 13 Comments

[Koji's now has over 6 locations in the Portland area and an outpost in Seattle. This review only refers to the downtown Portland location on SW Broadway, and the NE 15th and Weidler location near Lloyd Center]Although Koji's was never what I'd call grade ‘A' Japanese food, for many years it was one of my old reliable stand-bys. Koji's was a place I could always get decent … [Read more...] about Review: Koji Osakaya
