    Remedy Wine Bar Closing

    Remedy Wine Bar Portland
    Remedy Wine Bar

The Last Day for Remedy Wine Bar will be January 30th

One of my hangouts; so sorry to see it go. A comfortable space overlooking the North Park Blocks, it carriesĀ over 100 wines by the glass, and is staffed by genuinely nice people. In 2015 it placed #5 on our Best Wine Bar in Portland survey. The ongoing problems in the park blocks that the city is not addressing – drugs, homeless people, etc. are scaring away customers. Here is the statement they released this morning –

    Hello everyone.
It is our sad duty to announce that we will not be renewing our lease for the Remedy Wine Bar space. The unbelievable influx of homeless campers last summer, along with the accompanying drug use and other crimes, damaged our business beyond repair. We never really recovered from it, and we have no confidence that the city will address the underlying issues in time to prevent similar events this coming summer.

Our intent is to find a new home soon, and re-open. Meanwhile, our last day in our current space will be Saturday January 30th. Please stop in between now and then to enjoy a glass of wine. Thank you for your support over the past three years. We have enjoyed every minute.
