Tavern on Kruse in Lake Oswego has officially opened. The new restaurant on the corner of Kruse Way and Carman Drive is owned by Kent and Joelle Lewis, the same people behind the popular Uptown Billiards Club in Northwest Portland. The restaurant’s executive chef Nathan Bates will oversee both restaurants, and Brandon Armstrong will remain as chef de cuisine at Uptown Billiards.
The menu features a five-course chef’s tasting menu focused around a single ingredient for $55, with a $29 wine pairing. For the opening, the menu features strawberries. Look for dishes such as Chili-Seared Hamachi, strawberry & Easter Egg Raddish Salad, Lemon Grass & Strawberry Gelée with Chili Oil, and Strawberry & Black Pepper Shortcake, Seared Foie Gras, Paté, Brandied Strawberries with Raspberry Liquor. In the bar area, diners can order the same menu items that are so popular at Uptown Billiards. Brunch and lunch menus will be à la carte. Large roll-up doors allow outdoor dining on warm days.
