Tilt Restaurant to Open Third Location

Tilt Portland Pearl DistrictTilt Restaurant – American Workforce Food is Coming to SE Portland

You’ve probably seen the new tower going up at the east side of the Burnside Bridge. Now comes word that Tilt Restaurant in Portland, the monument to excessive consumption, is opening a new location in the Eastside Industrial District. The restaurant will be part of the Yard, a 21 story urban renewal apartment building currently under construction in the inner east side at 230 East Burnside street.

Skylab Architecture designed the building, which is taking on an unusual angular design. 284 apartments will make up the upstairs floors, with 20,000 square feet of retail space. Tilt will occupy 4,000 feet in a section which was designed for restaurant use.

This is the third location for Tilt in Portland. The popular restaurant is known for providing large quantities of food “built for the American workforce”. Though it gets good reviews on Yelp, it’s never impressed me.

The first restaurant is located on Swan Island in North Portland. A second opened about a year ago on Everett street in the Pearl District.
