I’d like to see a Portland Food And Drink reader survey of restaurants in Portland. It would either be really great or really scary, but either way I bet it would be way different than the Zagat survey and probably much more interesting.

Let’s do it!

Well, easy to say “let’s do it,” but it requires a rather sophisticated program on the website to set up a rating system, tally the ratings, incorporate comments like Zagat does (one of the things I like about their reviews), and so on. We don’t want FD (especially now that we can’t give him money any more – what happened with that??) to spend all of his waking hours tallying rating numbers, excerpting quotes, and putting it all in alphabetical order on the website – nightmare!!
So, do any of you PFD regulars have webmaster skills? And the willingness to set this up pro bono??

Um, I was joking. Not a bad idea though, of course FD would need to do all the work and he probably rolling his eyes at the thought of it.
On that note, and to start more trouble, it would also be interesting to see a “reader survey” to see who is out there reading this amazing Portland Food and Drink thingy in the first place.
FYI: You can get an oline survey accomplished for about $29.00 (I’ve done them in my professional work) and they are already formatted so no geek work is required. Do a google search to see what I mean.

Actually, I’m planning on doing a comprehensive surveys on site use late this month. I think restaurant ratings would be fun too, and not that hard to set up using SurveyMonkey.
