According to building permits, Naomi Pomeroy’s restaurant Beast, is moving into the now vacant space across from Grüner at 12th and Alder. Naomi announced a few weeks ago that she would be relocating after losing her lease. Beast is a standard foodie tourist stop, and has been featured in magazines and articles around the nation. More information as it comes in.

Updated: In an email, Naomi says “I haven’t pulled any permits, but i have talked to the city about SDC fees etc. But i haven’t signed a lease.”

Updated 2013: This deal fell through

Yes, I had heard that too, but wasn’t sure where lease discussions were, so couldn’t share. That part of town is becoming much more interesting restaurant wise. Interesting the number of established chefs opening restaurants downtown – certainly a way to reel in more of the hotel trade.
