Reader Survey 2015: Best Bakery in Portland

Just what is the Best Bakery in Portland? Judging by the sheer number of comments in the poll, many of you feel quite strongly about your favorites.

A shakeup in the top bakeries this year, with the top choice from previous years falling all the way to the 5th position. I think the shuffle may be due to my separating out bread and splitting it into a different category. Either way, it is a surprise to see previous names dropping down: Nuvrei, Fleur De Lis, and Pearl Bakery. Little T certainly has a large following, finally taking the top spot after being at 2nd since 2011! They rose well above competitors, even those with multiple branches, which have had better exposure.

A few of my favorite comments:

• Waves of Grain: Shhh, keep it like a secret! Wait no, tell everyone so they stay open! The spelt muffin, the sweet potato biscuit, the yogurt creme thingie. A side of asparagus when it’s in season!
• Fluer De Lis: their meat/turnovers/ flaky like a French heart attack, but you can’t stop
• Fluer De Lis: Paris in Portland!
• Pix Patisserie: I drool over everything in their cases. Almost too pretty to eat. Almost.
